About Lori
If you ever wanted to make health changes or get “in shape” by working out and only ended up dissatisfied or injured, I understand your frustration. I hope my story gives you hope that there are other, more effective options.
For the last 20+ years, I have worked as a Health Coach, a Licensed Massage Therapist and a Fitness Instructor who loves to explore and live a healthy lifestyle with my family and friends. My husband and I enjoy cooking together, listening to music, and traveling. We are proud parents of 2 daughters, our Havanese dog, Mason and we recently became first-time grandparents 2 years ago!
For more than 20 years I suffered from terrible symptoms like migraine headaches, bloating, pain and inflammation in my joints, just to name a few. I can remember lying in bed with a migraine headache, the door closed, the room was dark as night and quiet as a church, but I still felt the excruciating pain in my head so severely I just wanted to cry. I missed out on events because I could barely function leaving me angry and alone. This started happening with stomach pain too. For a couple of years I experienced a gut wrenching pain and bloating that had me doubled over after almost every dinner.
I couldn’t understand why this was happening. I had been exercising and eating healthier, choosing fresh, raw vegetables, whole-grain bread and pasta, brown rice, lowfat yogurt, 90% lean meat, etc. There had to be something wrong with me, but my doctors couldn’t find it.
As a lover of fitness, I used to believe that I could exercise off whatever I put at the end of my fork. And that worked for a while, especially when I was in my 20s. When I became a fitness instructor at my own studio, I thought I was going to be in the best shape of my life. Finally I was going to have “the beach body” that I’ve always dreamt about! Initially I saw a little change in my upper body strength, but never on the scale. I really wanted that scale to go down, I checked every week and sometimes every day, but nothing.
As the years went by, I started feeling more aches and pains. First it was my low back, I couldn’t even bend over to pick up my small, 14 pound dog. Then my hip pain prevented me from sitting on the floor cross-legged, I triggered an old hamstring injury, my left shoulder was painful and then after months of knee pain, I found out I needed knee replacements at 48 years old. I taught over ten 60 minute classes a week but was never able to lose those annoying last 10 pounds. And now I have to modify everything I do.
Exercise form was very important to me. I pride myself on training smarter not harder so I can say the injuries were not caused by carelessness. I had many CrossFit injured clients on my massage table, I saw first hand what happens when one trains recklessly. But nonetheless, I worried my fitness clients would feel discouraged or uninspired by my pain. I thought I was doing everything right but I was soooooo stuck and frustrated!! Have you ever felt that way?
The last straw was when I developed a hernia. During my recovery, I found WILDFIT. I thought, “this is perfect timing, I have to eat super clean because I can’t exercise for several weeks”. I used my recovery to focus solely on my mental and emotional health, and nutrition. I quickly realized all the “healthy” foods I thought were good for me, were actually causing my pain. Through WILDFIT, I became pain free, I released 18 pounds and dropped 2 sizes. But more importantly, I developed a healthier relationship with food and exercise and no longer suffer from pain or guilt. I finally let go of the diet and exercise mentality that haunted me for decades. And I could walk down a flight of stairs without holding onto the railing…YAY!!
Now I help men and women like myself, who have felt discouraged by the food and fitness industry, to love their bodies and food again.
Most recently I helped a group of 18 people lose over 400 pounds, drop several sizes and gain more self confidence than they’ve ever been able to get from the gym. Their WILDFIT transformations were magical! Here’s what one client had to say….
“When I signed up for Wildfit I was hoping to improve my health. Lori Moody and WildFit delivered. All of my life I have struggled with my weight, trying every fad diet out there. Short term results and back to old habits were the norm for me. A few years ago I started having digestive issues, migranes, trouble sleeping, and severe knee pain caused from inflammation and arthritis. Prescription medicine, nightly sleep aid, and several vitamins were on my menu for the day. Until Lori Moody invited me to consider being a part of her first WildFit 90 day challenge. Let me tell you it was the best invitation I have ever received. Life changing for both me and my husband (who jumped on that train on day three).
The format of the program is very easy to follow. The support is amazing, and you take your classes from the comfort of your own home. I feel so proud that I followed through diligently, set goals, and achieved so much more than I ever dreamed that I would. I feel so much better. I have significantly improved my nutrition. I eat more than ever before and am losing weight in the process. Fifteen pounds for me fromSize 10-12 to Size 6. Twenty pounds for my husband. I sleep like a baby and wake up more energetic. I have discarded my prescriptions, sleep aid, and vitamins. My stomach issues have disappeared and so has my knee pain. I kid you not, I was about to schedule a total knee replacement before I had gotten this invitation from Lori.
I encourage anyone with struggles like mine to consider Wildfit. Lori is an amazing coach, always encouraging, informed, and willing to research for you. She has completed the program herself and stands behind it, so much so it drove her to become a WildFit Coach. I have completed the program but I choose to Live Wildfit. My journey continues everyday treating myself well.” -Kim Defaria, Newport, NY
